The project’s aim is facilitating to the children of vulnerable communities of Santa Marta skills that help them develope and advance their own life’s projects.
The foundation has come two years ago from Bogotá to Santa Marta where it already operates successfully for 10 years. Since its foundation in 2006, it has used sport and arts as pedagogical tools for the value education of children and teenagers from vulnerable communities. Itwas born in the sector of Cazucá, Soacha-Bogotá, but later extended its activities to Cartagena and finally to Santa Marta, where it has been operating since May 2014.
In Santa Marta the foundation has enrolled about 90 children and teenagers in its workshops and activities in vulnerbale communities in Santa Marta. It offers workshops in sport (football practice twice a week – besides, the foundation works with other soccer schools in towns/villages nearby), dancing and music. Realizing the workshops, the foundations seeks to promote and create spaces of peace, equality and conexistence.
Furthermore, a hostel initiative, that is conceived as a training facility for local youth to learn skills and trades related to more sustainable tourism, hotel and service industry, forms an integrative part of the project. Besides, you, as a volunteer, have the opportunity to stay at the hostel for an extra cost.
The foundation offers you different work options:
You can support the training and community work of the foundation and work with the children. However, it also exists the possibilty of helping with the implementation and strengthening of the hostel initiative.
